Born To Sing
BORN TO SING

(Action | Crime | Musical)
[1 hour 22 minutes]

Show promoter Cartwright has stolen the songs that
Frank wrote while he was in the big house. The boys
go to Cartwright to get Frank credit for his work, and
Cartwright has them arrested for extortion, of which
they are innocent. Luckily, they are in the same paddy
wagon as Pete and when his gang springs Pete, the boys
are sprung. The only way that they can prove now that
the songs are Frank's is to put on a show before
Cartwright show 'Melody for You' opens. The boys and
Patsy find a theater, paint the scenery and put all the
kids in the neighborhood to work on the show.
Pete Detroit makes sure that Cartwright's show does not
open on the same night and that his cabs bring in
an audience.

Almost Married
ALMOST MARRIED

(Comedy | Music | Romance)
[1 hour 5 minutes]

Gloria Dobson is finding it hard to become a night club
singer in New York because she has "no name". She is
given a chance to acquire one when her trunk is delivered
by mistake to the home of socialite James Manning III.
The latter's wealthy Aunt Matilda has Jimmy tagged for
marriage to Louella Marvin. Jimmy, not interested in
marrying Louella, and his butler, Michael persuade Gloria,
who has come to claim her trunk, to be introduced to
Aunt Mathilda as Jimmy's "secret bride". The news of his
"secret marriage" makes the newspapers, and his lawyers
advise him that the only way out is an actual marriage
to Gloria, followed by a quick divorce. Gloria agrees
and they are married, and she discovers she has fallen
in love with Jimmy. But humiliated because Jimmy still
wants a divorce, she defiantly obtains a night club
singing engagement on the strength of her married name.
Jimmy ruins her chances of gaining recognition by
buying up all the club's reservations for three weeks.
Gloria then heads for Reno to get a divorce. Jimmy,
realizing that he does love Gloria, flies to catch
her Reno-bound train...

I Married An Angel
I MARRIED AN ANGEL

(Fantasy | Musical | Romance | Comedy)
[1 hour 24 minutes]

A count who ignores an infatuated secretary thinks he has
met his match when an angel from Heaven shows up.
=====
Anna Zador is a secretary who's been working for 6 years at
Count Willie Palaffi's bank. Every day, she rides to work on
her bike and places flowers on Willie's desk, but Willie
(the Budapest playboy) doesn't know that she exists.
"Whiskers", noticing Anna to be a sweet and beautiful woman,
believes she would be the perfect wife for Willie. He insists
that Marika (Willie's personal secretary) invite Anna to
Willie's costume birthday party - she does so reluctantly for
she wants to marry Willie. Marika, knowing Anna is low on
cash, offers to help her get a costume. At the party,
everyone is dressed elegantly, while Anna is in a simple
Angel's outfit. Willie, feeling sorry for her, asks her to
dance, but when he sees the guests laughing at them, he makes
an excuse and goes upstairs. Upstairs, Willie falls asleep
and dreams that an Angel named Brigitta comes to earth to
marry him. On their wedding night, Brigitta loses her wings to
Willie's delight. He is less delighted when her truthfulness
gets him into trouble with the socialites. Willie leaves
Brigitta in a rage. Brigitta decides to change, even if it
means losing her soul. Willie realizes his mistakes,
but it is too late.

Joan of Ozark
JOAN OF OZARK

(Action | Comedy | Music | War)
[1 hour 22 minutes]

During World War II, a yodeling hillbilly singer goes undercover
to expose a ring of Nazi spies operating in the United States.
=====
Ozark thrush Judy Hull inadvertently shoots a pigeon carrying
a message from a secret Nazi spy nest in the United States, and
becomes a national heroine. Philip Munson ,head of the spy ring
with headquarters in a secret room at the "Club 76", which he
operates, receives orders from the Gestapo to immediately
liquidate her as an object lesson to all Americans who might
try to emulate her. When theatrical agents Cliff Little and
Eddie McCabe come to Munson's office with Marie Lamont, a
dancer they are trying to promote, Munson conceives a scheme
whereby Judy will be brought to him, rather than him going to
the Ozarks to liquidate her. He tells Little and McCabe that if
they will produce the now-famous Judy Hull as an entertainer
at his club, he might be interested in making a deal to
employ their client

GIVE OUT, SISTERS

(Comedy | Music)
[1 hour 5 minutes]

Peggy (Peggy Ryan), a messenger, delivers a telegram to
The Flamingo Club where the Andrews Sisters (The Andrews Sisters)
and Bob Edwards' Orchestra are appearing. Peggy learns that the
club's owner, Harrison (William Frawley), intends to enlarge his
show and she persuades him to give her and her friends a tryout.
If they make good, they can save the dancing school run by
Professor Woof ('Charles Butterworth') and Gribble (Walter Catlett).
Press agent Kendall (Richard Davies) recognizes the leader of the
group as Gracie Waverly ('Grace MacDonald'), the niece of three
millionaire aunts. When Gracie's picture appears in the newspaper,
Harrison immediately signs the group, the Waverly sisters, order
Gracie never to dance again or she will be disinherited.
Professor Woof, using the Andrews Sisters to pose as the
Wavely sisters, as a ruse to allow Gribble to bring Harrison to
get permission to sign Gracie; this works until the real
Waverly sisters show up, and with two sets of Waverly's,
complications arise.

Singing Johnny Norton is the star catcher of the Blue Sox
baseball team but he is suspended because of insubordination.
Producer Barney Crane hears Johnny singing and signs him to
appear with Gloria Jackson, with the promise their first
engagement will be in Havana. Johnny, hoping to get his
baseball job back, is anxious to get to Cuba where the
Blue Sox are having spring training. Patsy Clark, daughter of
Blue Sox owner, Joe Clark, helps Johnny get another chance
with the team. But Johnny has fallen in love with Gloria and
hates to walk out on his singing contract. Johnny's troubles are
solved when rain prevents the important All-Star exhibition
game which was scheduled for the same evening.

SPRINGTIME IN THE ROCKIES

(Musical)
[1 hour 31 minutes]

Broadway partners Vicky Lane and Dan Christy have a tiff
over Christy's womanizing. Jealous Vicky takes up with
her old flame and former dance partner, Victor Price, and
Dan's career takes a nosedive. In hopes of rekindling their
romance and getting Vicky back on the boards with him,
Dan follows her to a ritzy resort in the Canadian Rockies,
where she and Victor are about to open their new act. But
things get complicated when Dan wakes after a bender to
find that he's hired an outlandish Latin secretary,
Rosita Murphy, which makes Vicky think he's just up to
his old tricks again.

Soldier Johnny Grey is engaged to marry singer Mapy Cortes, but
his plans go awry when he learns that he is the heir to $100,000

before claiming the money, Johnny must marry a descendant of
his great-grandfather's Civil War enemy, General Havelock-Allen.
Not wanting to disrupt his planned marriage to Mapy, Johnny

be the beautiful Terry Havelock-Allen.
